Skype in the Classroom:

Our CI 3750 class Skyped with Sarah Weldon, a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society and a former developmental neuropsychologist. She currently lives in the United Kingdom and is from Alderney in the Channel Islands. On April 11th, we Skyped with Sarah, learning all about her founded charity called Oceans Project and her next adventure around the British Isles. Take a look at our Skype video and learn all about the adventures of a Viking explorer.

What is the Oceans Project?

Oceans Project, an environmental and STEM education charity that began in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia in 2010. Each year, Oceans Project undertakes an ocean row as a way of raising money to provide free, online education to disadvantaged young people worldwide, who don't have the chance to attend school. Oceans Project raises funds for 40 supported children's projects across Asia, South America, Central America, and Africa, as well as providing free online, environmental and STEM education resources for teachers and students worldwide. This includes Virtual Field Trips and Mystery Skype sessions
